2025 Year in Review!

As we conclude the 2025 calendar year, we have many things for which to be grateful. Here is just a small sample of achievements by the students and staff during 2025:

  • On the 2025 State Report Card, Columbus Grove Schools tied for the highest ranking in the county with a 4.5-star rating. Thank you to staff, students and parents for putting value in educating every child who walks through our doors.
  • CG continues to provide college credit opportunities to support students and parents through CCP courses on our campus. We also added hands-on learning options through our Workshop for Life course and adding conservation curriculum to our General Science course.
  • The girls’ basketball team won the 2025 Division VI State Championship.
  • In March of 2025 Columbus Grove Staged its 58th annual HS Musical. A wonderful cast of students staged a production of " The Pajama Game”.
  • Boys and girls track sent multiple athletes to the state meet in Columbus.
  • The golf team won its first sectional team title in school history. This year, the team also broke the overall team score record, and the individual 18-hole score record two different times.
  • The girls’ soccer team won the PCL and made it to regionals this past fall.
  • The CG Marching Band qualified for the OMEA State Competition for the fifth consecutive year, earning a Superior rating.
  • The volleyball team won a sectional championship.
  • The boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams qualified for state, with the boys’ team finishing as State-Runner Up in the Fall.
  • The football team earned another trip to the Final Four of the State Playoffs for the fourth year in a row.

CG Hosts Liberty Benton for an afternoon Match

CG Schools operated on a 2:00 p.m. dismissal schedule which allowed all students to go into the gym to watch a wrestling match between CG and LB. We host this event every other year, and it is fun to watch the students get excited for the matches. Our wrestling program appreciates this match as it allows them to compete in front of a larger CG crowd. Thank you to all the volunteers that help make this event possible.
