Alex Sheen Presentation - because I said I would
Posted Date: 10/01/25 (11:35 AM)
Yesterday, students from Columbus Grove and Pandora Gilboa had the opportunity to hear from Alex Sheen, founder of "because I said I would."
Alex shared his powerful message about the importance of keeping promises and the impact it can have on others. His words challenged and inspired our students to think about the commitments they make and how following through can truly change lives.
He also handed out Promise Cards—a simple but powerful tool to help hold ourselves accountable to the commitments we make. Promise Cards began when Alex created one to honor his father, who passed away from cancer in 2012. Alex’s dad was a man who always kept his promises, and this tradition has now grown into a global movement. Since then, over 15.2 million Promise Cards have been distributed to 178 countries—always free, and always by request.
A special thanks to the Mental Health, Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Board of Putnam County and the Suicide Awareness Run/Walk of Putnam County for making this possible for our schools!
