Spotlight Athlete of the Week 12/19

Spotlight Athlete: Aubrey Schroeder
This week, we are proud to recognize Aubrey Schroeder as our Spotlight Athlete for her outstanding performance in Basketball. Aubrey’s dedication, leadership, and passion for the game make her a key contributor both on and off the court.
Aubrey plays shooting guard and has been involved in basketball for nearly her entire life—she’s been playing since the age of two. Her experience and love for the sport are evident in her strong start to the season, helping her team achieve a perfect beginning so far.
In addition to basketball, Aubrey stays busy and well-rounded by participating in volleyball, track, Leo Club, and Student Council, showing her commitment to both athletics and school involvement.
Her favorite part of basketball is the opportunity to play alongside her teammates, building chemistry and competing together. Individually, Aubrey is focused on continuing to improve her ball handling and overall skill set, while her main team goal is to make a deep run in tournament play this season.
A fun fact about Aubrey? Despite being an athlete, she can’t touch her toes!

Spotlight Athlete: Brady Basinger
This week, we are excited to recognize Brady Basinger as our Spotlight Athlete for his strong performance in Basketball. Brady’s work ethic, versatility, and team-first mentality have made him a valuable presence on the court this season.
Brady plays forward and has been involved in basketball for as long as he can remember—he’s been playing since he could walk. His dedication has paid off, as he is currently a starter and recently scored 13 points against Calvert, contributing significantly to his team’s success.
Beyond basketball, Brady stays active in football, baseball, Leo Club, and National Honor Society, demonstrating his commitment to athletics, leadership, and academics.
Brady’s favorite part of basketball is the teamwork required to win a game, something he embraces every time he steps on the court. Individually, his goal is to earn 1st Team NWC or PCL honors, while as a team, he hopes to advance past districts this season.
A fun fact about Brady is that he used to have make believe basketball games with himself, a clear sign that his love for the game started early.
