Spotlight Athletes of the Week 9/19

Athlete Spotlight: Evan Verhoff
Evan Verhoff, a senior kicker for the football team, has been playing the sport for four years. His hard work and consistency have earned him recognition as an All-Ohio Honorable Mention Kicker last season. In addition to football, Evan stays active in club soccer, Leo Club, NHS, and the school musical, showing his ability to balance athletics, academics, and extracurriculars.
Evan says his favorite part of football is being with the team. His personal goals for the season are to not miss a single kick and to rack up as many touchbacks as possible. For his team, he hopes to help the Bulldogs win the NWC and make a strong playoff run.
A fun fact about Evan is that his favorite color is orange. After high school, he plans to attend college to study engineering, carrying the same focus and drive he has shown on the field into his future career.

Athlete Spotlight: Nicole Nesby
Nicole Nesby plays volleyball as an outside and right-side hitter, a sport she has been dedicated to since fifth grade. Along with her commitment to volleyball, Nicole is also involved in basketball, track, Leo Club, Student Council, and NHS, balancing her time between athletics, academics, and leadership roles.
Nicole says her favorite part of volleyball is the excitement of the games. Her personal academic goal this year is to stay on the honor roll, while her team goal is to make a strong tournament run. She continues to show her dedication and determination both on and off the court.
A fun fact about Nicole is that she works at Taco Bell. After high school, she plans to pursue civil engineering, bringing the same energy she shows in athletics into her future career path.
