Defensive Player of the Year

Columbus Grove’s standout linebacker, Brady Basinger, has been named the Northwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year, a well-deserved honor for one of the league’s toughest and most consistent defenders. Basinger has been a force all season, recording 96 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, an interception, and 2 fumble recoveries, anchoring a Bulldog defense known for its physicality and discipline.
Basinger’s athleticism and toughness have made him a nightmare for opposing offenses—quick enough to chase down ball carriers in open space and strong enough to shed blockers in the trenches. His relentless motor and leadership on the field set the tone for the entire defense, embodying the grit and determination that define Columbus Grove football.
